    1. @Michael I’m loving all these comments borne of first-hand unmitigated frustration. It’s always good to know that I’m not alone.

    2. I have a love hate relationship with ark. When it’s going well it’s a lot of fun but I’ve never had any other game make me so angry and swear for hours

    1. @Eric Skalicky But the actual gameplay is NOTHING like dark souls, except for the system of loosing souls. And a “decently customizable character” describes like half of all videogames to ever exist. And “maps getting bigger over time” is like the entire premise of a metroidvania. Are you tryna say that, cuz its a metroidvania, it’s like dark souls?

    2. @CC Da Bud It essentially follows the entire formula(with some twists) of dark souls. Map that slowly gets bigger and unfurls as you explore, brutal difficulty, a “if you die you lose you souls and got to go get them” system, and a decently customizable character. (though stats are handled differently in Hollow knight)

  1. If Vin Diesel was around fighting dinosaurs then he’s part of fossil fuels now and his name isn’t just a name he’s actually Diesel.

    1. @Seifer Almasy Whenever I play (especially with my friend Luna) the game constantly freezes and glitches and it makes it even worse when it has the stupid tether system

    2. 5 years in and still no optimisation. Dozens of high-spec games on my PC, Ark is STILL the only one that puts the fans into meltdown.
Check out “Atlas”, their next game… didn’t work when it was released and now 2 years later it’s still “early access”, still getting new content shoved in, and still none of it actually works.
      Doesn’t exactly demand our optimism.

    3. @BikiniBodhi 2 Wildcard just got way too ahead of themselves, I reckon. Classic case of “too many ideas, too little time to put those ideas to good work”

  2. I have a rule that every time Gameranx compares a game to Breath of the Wild I would take a shot of whisky. I am now typing this from the afterlife…

    1. He did a top 10 third person video six days ago, and in that one video he brought up on two occasions how two games are like breath of the wild, so if you include this one that’s three in one week lol, granted the one on this video has credit of being similar. It’s just annoying to constantly hear it whenever a game is cartoony lol

    1. @Myskully14 probably because of the train wreck that was Anthem. And the fact the many if not all of the original team that made the original Mass Effect trilogy no longer work at Bioware.

    2. Why is that? The first 3 are some of the most critically acclaimed RPGs of all time and Andromeda is an amazing game. Whats to be worried about? I was hoping for Andromeda 2… but Mass Effect 4 is cool enough.

    1. To be fair tho, they always got the same type of parachute, stamina based climbing, and similar combat. They’re all obviously influenced by it, maybe not “taken” though

    2. They never said taken. I think people see this comparison as a detraction, this is completely wrong. Of course there are going to be similarities to another game you know of. That’s probably why you even like the game.

  3. I know it’s a weird concept, but they should really develop a Blade RPG based on the movies. That would be awesome.

Edit: Wow! Good to know there are so many like minded people who like this concept 🙂

  4. For those wondering, Ark 2 is getting funding from Microsoft. That’s why it has Vin Diesel and a bigger narrative. That’s why it’s exclusive.

Edit: For those who don’t believe me, look up Arron Greenberg on Twitter. He’s part of the Xbox Games Marketing team. He said what I said.

    1. @zombienerd300 Phil Spencer “We want to enable you to play the games you want to play, with the friends you want to play with, on any device.”

  5. me: tell about this game?
gameranx: its like breath of the wild
    me: and that game?
    gameranx : its like doom
me: do you remember a time when you told us the details about a game and not just point us to another game

    1. This sounds like a proper argument, till you realize that familiarity helps ease people into understanding the facets of a game.

  6. I’ve lost a lot of trust in game trailers. The reality of it is that a game trailer might be completely different than the actual game it is advertising.
